Alex's Opinion:
This is one of my absolute favorite "Redwall" series books. Grath Longfletch is a truly epic protagonist, and the whole story builds up to a showdown of epic proportions. The plot is split between three places, which all eventually come together at the end- I love it when that happens. Pearls of Lutra, like pretty much all Redwall books, is a "feel good" book, where the good guys beat the bad guys, and its really satisfying. I like Pearl's of Lutra because the good guy is a little darker, and the bad guys are more complex.

Who would like it:
Redwall books were some of the first books that got me interested in reading back in grade school- not that I don't still enjoy reading them now. That said, they are some violent parts, with characters being slayed by arrows and spears and swords, so advised with young readers. This book has something for everyone- mystery, action, adventure, and witty humor.
