Dinotopia: The World Beneath Book Review

Genre: Children's Fiction

Author: Jame Gurney

Plot:
Dinotopia- The Land Lost in Time, a hidden utopia where man and dinosaurs have coexist,  having developed a sweeping land of peace, beauty, and harmony. Dinotopia's past isn't as rosy- in a time forgotten, man did not live in peace with dinosaurs- he ruled them,  creating terrifyingly powerful machines to dehumanize their intelligent and peaceful dinosaurs, and in doing so, man dehumanized himself. Fortunately, this time is forgotten, erased... But the machines are not gone- simply lost, in the mythical World Beneath. And it only takes one man to rediscover and abuse this forgotten power...

Alex's Opinion:
This is a fantastic book- I really recommend buying it. Its over-sized pages are beautifully illustrated, depicting the mystic world of Dinotopia- you could leave this book on your coffee table, and visitors of all ages will enjoy flipping though the pages, even if they aren't reading the words. The plot is a really "feel good" tale of good and evil, light and dark. I've read it several time, and love to flip through the pages.

Who would like it:
Young and old will love this picture book- a great addition to any book collection. Great to read to you children, or for getting kids excited about reading.

Read it!
