Alex's Opinion:
First off, I should explain that this is a children's picture book. The author is the only children's picture book writer I know by name, and he has written several excellent children's poetry books as well, notably "Where the Sidewalk Ends
". The Giving Tree is short and sweet, with a fuzzy good feeling ending, and a positive message. The illustrations are fun, and the writing has charming brevity.
Who Would Like It:
Everyone! No one is too old to learn a lesson about being a better person from The Giving Tree. Buy this book if a child lives in your house, or keep a hardback copy on you coffee table to make you house look sophisticated and to entertain any visiting children.
