The Wee Free Men Book Review

Genre: Fantasy

Author: Terry Pratchett

Plot:
Tiffany Aching is a singular young girl. She owns a dictionary, and has read it through more than once. If someone says camel have feet as big a dinner plates, you can bet when she gets home, she'll measure her plates with a ruler- being precise is important. And if her straightforward life of herding sheep, making cheese, and looking after her sticky little brother is interrupted by monsters breaking through thin wall in reality and going after her little brother, you can bet she'll find a unique way to handle the situation. Fortunately for her, she has gained the support of a local tribe of Nac Mac Feegles, small blue tattooed men with kilts and red hair- and its impossible to outnumber a single Nac Mac Feegle, because they can't count.
Breaking into the mind bending world of dreams ruled by the Snow Queen, Tiffany and the Nac Mac Feegle must see through the illusions and rescue her brother and beat the Snow Queen back to her own universe. Fortunately, beating is something Nac Mac Feegles love to do.

Alex's Opinion:
This is another "Disk World" book by one of my favorite authors, Terry Pratchett. The "Tiffany Aching" series of books if one of my favorites in the Disk World universe. Tiffany is an amazing heroine- you will love her personality instantly. She doesn't take nonsense from anything or anyone. Terry Pratchett unique brand of humor and witty perspective makes this book alot of fun to read. It is empowering to read about headstrong Tiffany taking on the forces of evil, or even just the forces of ignorance with practicality and logic. The Nac Mac Feegle are also great fun, themselves believe that they are actually in heaven already, and have decided to make the best of it.

Who would like it:
Fans of fantasy will love this story, where the magic and fantasy are... practical. You'll make new friends in all the new characters, with their human flaws and virtues. Children should also love this book, with the young heroine taking on the world.
